Our Vintage Widow Pinot Noir is the top blended Pinot Noir made at Jackson Estate, sourced from our Southern Valleys vineyards in Marlborough. These clay-rich sites are particularly well suited to Pinot Noir, producing wines with depth, structure, and clear vineyard character.

Lifted aromatics of brambly red fruits overlay a background of dried herbs, spice, and leather. To taste, the flavor profile is a combination of savory density and rich, ripe flavors, all without losing precise pinot noir detail. Tannins are silky and
integrated, leaving an impression of texture, concentration and not least, definitive vineyard and southern Marlborough clays character.

What Shapes the Style

This wine is made as a blend of multiple Pinot Noir parcels from Jackson Estate’s Southern Valleys vineyards, grown on deep clay soils with alluvial loam and gravel overlays. Eighteen separate parcels of Pinot Noir contribute to the final blend, all hand harvested and fermented using wild yeasts.

Extended time on skins and ageing in French oak builds structure, depth, and complexity, while preserving elegance and balance.
