Shelter Belt Chardonnay 2008 Accolades

4 Stars - Cuisine Magazine - April 2010
Michael Ivicevich was a big fan. "It is weighty, integrated and beautifully controlled." With good length and moderate complexity, this racy, quite savoury Chardonnay gets you thinking about a delicously soft and crumbling sheep's milk cheese.

Bright, pale straw-green; a totally delicious Chardonnay, with vibrant white flesh peach, nectarine and touches of cashew and citrussy acidity, the oak perfectly balanced and integrated; great mouthfeel, too. Exceptional bargain. 96 points; drink to 2017; 13.5% alc; Screwcap

Decanter March 2010
Lots of bright citrus fruit on the nose with well-handled oak. Nice structure on the palate followed by generous ripe fruit and fine texture. Good creaminess on the finish.

I recommend this wine to anyone with a taste for chardonnay. Opulent, highly textured with characteristic apple/citrus flavours and a beautifully nutty bouquet, it’s a well-rounded drop. One of its other strengths lies in its smooth, buttery textures. But there's nothing flabby about this chardonnay, simply a delicious combination of flavours and textures.

Oodles of juicy fruit - tropical, golden peach, apples and pears, with an undertone of toasty nuts and oak.
