Jackson Estate Unoaked Chardonnay 2002
Pale yellow. The nose exhibits aromas of nectarine and tropical fruit supported by well - integrated mineral and savoury characters. The palate is ripe and tropical with subtle stone-fruit flavours underpinned by steely and mineral-based characters giving way to a creamy mid palate. The wine is well balanced with a clean, crisp acidity that enhances its structure and length. To ensure the premium quality of this wine a screwcap closure has been chosen to seal the bottle.
[ Food Match ]
This is a flexible food wine that works well with chicken, salmon, lighter pork dishes, salads and vegetables. Especially good when using creamy sauces such as Hollandaise or tarragon, creamy pasta dishes, white meats, seafood and soups.
[ Winemakers Notes ]
A very good year that started with early flowering and gave us good consistent weather right past vintage. This continued over harvest allowing the fruit to come in very clean and of a high standard.

This wine was made from two clones of Estate grown Chardonnay, picked in the cool of the evening, gently pressed and fermented very slowly without oak to allow the primary fruit characteristics to shine. Nearing the end of fermentation the tanks were lees stirred and 50% of the volume underwent full malolactic fermentation.
[ Cellaring ]
Drink now through 2004 while it is still young and vibrant.
