The Bluehills vineyard is located on the south eastern side of the Omaka River.
The average temperatures in this vineyard are cooler in winter and warmer in summer than either
Grey Ghost or Stonewall. This greater diurnal fluctuation results in high intensity of flavour. The grapes grown here are packed
with tropical fruits, red pepper & white currant notes, and the wine made from parcels of Bluehills fruit has a rich fruited
mouth feel. The vineyard lies in an old river bed and the soil is made up of large boulders that overlay gravel
and silt. The Bluehills vineyard is pictured in the foreground of this photograph south of the trees that line the Omaka riverbanks.
