Grey Ghost Vineyard

The Grey Ghost vineyard is named for the giant ghost gum tree planted at Jackson Estate in 1867 by John's great great grandmother Alice Jackson. The tree towers over the landscape and graces every bottle of Jackson Estate wine. This is the most mature Jackson Estate vineyard planted with sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, riesling and pinot noir. This land has been sustainably farmed by the Jackson family for five generations. Fruit grown in this vineyard is full of stonefruit & bell pepper flavours. The combination of mature vines with our stony free draining silt loam soils, are the foundations of the underlying minerality and intense herbaceousness that the Jackson style is best known for.
